Description:
Herbs perennial, 30 ~ 50 cm tall. Culms caespitose, erect or base slightly inclined, base flattened. Leaf blade linear, 10 -- 25 cm long, 3 -- 5 mm wide, often coiled, apex long acuminate; Leaf sheath flat, sheath mouth with white pilose; Ligule truncated. Paniculate inflorescences spreading, 15 -- 18 cm long, branches nearly whorled or solitary, more tortuous; Spikelets thin stalks, black spikelets, small flowers 3 ~ 8; Glumes lanceolate, apex acuminate, veined; Lemma ovate-oblong, loosely arranged, lemma slightly shorter than lemma, often persistent, apex flattened; Anthers yellow. Fruit and fruit period from April to September.
