Lemon Verbena is a deciduous perennial shrub,its Latin name is Lippia citriodora. It grows to a height of 3 to 7 meters and exudes a powerful lemony scent. Its long and narrow bright green leaves are rich in volatile oil (mainly citral). Lemon verbena extract is obtained by extracting with 80% 1,3-Butylene glycol solution from Verbena officinalis which is cultivated in Okinawa, Japan. Verbena contains verbenalin, and is known to have an anti-inflammatory and a hemostatic action, and is used for emmenagogue, jaundice, diarrhea, blister and women's diseases, etc.
Functions:
1. Antiphlogistic and analgesic;.
2. Its decoction inhibits the growth of Bacillus diphtheria and Bacillus typhi in vitro
3. Stimulating the uterus.
4. To promote the flow of blood and relieve blood stasis, to stop material attacks, to counteract toxicity, and to cause diuresis.
Applications:
Widely used in medicine, health care products, food additives, beverage, and other fields.
