Description:
Ilex chinensis Sims (Ilex chinensis Sims) is a genus of evergreen flowering plants in the genus Ilex, in the family Ilex. It is a member of the genus Ilex, having grayish or grayish bark, vertical furrows, and grayish green branchlets. Leaves thinly leathery, narrow elliptic or lanceolate, apical acuminate, base cuneate, margin lightly circular serrate, reddish brown, shiny when dry. Petals purplish red or mauve, turning outwardly. Fruit elliptic or subglobose, deep red when ripe.
