Description:
Juniperus communis L. is a tree of the genus Juniperus in the Cupressaceae family, up to 12 m tall, or an erect shrub 1-3 m tall, with grayish brown bark and straight or oblique branches. Leaves whorled, all spiny, straight, striplate-lanceolate, 8 -- 16 mm long and 1 -- 1.2 mm wide, cones globose or broadly ovoid, blue-black at maturity, 5 -- 6 mm in diameter, seeds ovoid, triangulate, apex acute.
