Description:

Leucojum aestivum L. is a genus of lycoris in the family Leucojum. Its bulbs are oval and can reach 3.5 cm in diameter. Basal leaves several, green, broadly linear, obtuse. Flower stem and basal leaf pull out at the same time, umbel has flowers, under the flame bract involucre; Pedicels vary in length, flowers drooping; Tepals, white, tipped with green spots; Ovary lower, long elliptic, style longer than stamen. Capsule subglobose, seeds black. Flowering is spring.
