Description:
Holy Basil Semi-shrub, up to 1 m high. Stems erect, base woody, subcylindrical, striate, spreading sparsely pilose, much branched. Leaves oblong, 2.5 -- 5.5 cm long, 1 -- 3 cm wide, apex obtuse, base cuneate to suborbicular, margin shallowly undulate, puberulent and glandular punctate on both surfaces, sparsely pilose along veins, lateral veins 4 -- 6 pairs, concave above and conspicuously below with midveins, petioles slender, 1 -- 2.5 cm long, subflattened, spreading sparsely pilose.
