Description:
Gymnema is a woody climbing plant that grows in the tropical forests of central and southern India. The leaves lamina is ovate, elliptic or ovate-lanceolate, with both surfaces pubescent. The flowers are small bell-shaped yellow color. The leaves of gurmar are used medicinally, for its unique property to directly mask the tongue's ability to taste sweet foods; at the same time suppresses glucose absorption from the intestine.
Function:
1. It has the effect of dispelling wind and relieving pain, detoxification and detumescence
2. It can be used for rheumatism, sore throat, scrofula, breast abscess, sore furuncle, eczema, unknown swelling and poisonous snake bite
3. Hypoglycemic effect, can inhibit anterior pituitary extract, pituitary or adrenocorticotropic hormone caused by elevated blood sugar
4. Other functions, used as a weight loss agent
