Description:
Wei Ling grass, perennial herbs, for less commonly used traditional Chinese medicine. The decoction of the whole herb of Wiling Grass has an inhibitory effect on dysentery bacillus. The decoction of leaf and root can inhibit the heart of isolated frog and rabbit, dilate the isolated bronchus of guinea pig and excite the isolated uterus of guinea pig. The root decoction could inhibit the amoeba tissue lytic protozoa in vivo by intragastric administration of amoeba infected rats, but it was not effective in vitro. According to clinical reports, this product has curative effect on acute bacterial dysentery.
