Description:
Elephantopus scaber is a tropical species of flowering plant in the sunflower family. It is native to tropical Africa,Eastern Asia, Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and northern Australia. It has become naturalized in tropical Africa andLatin America. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
Function:
1. used for loss of appetite and stomach upset (indigestion).
2. an effective tonic usually administered for insufficiency of qi and blood due to impairment of the heart and spleen resulting from overstrain, manifested as palpitation, amnesia and insomnia.
3. effective to red eyes and dizziness, swollen or deaf ears, bitter mouth and body side ache, throat swelling and pain and so on.
4. used for hardening of liver, liver cancer. In case of yinxu, use raw bai zhu plus other herbs according to diagnostics.
